The "miniature horse" is a down-sized horse with as close to perfect proportions as is possible. There are standards of perfection that breeders of registered miniature horses strive to achieve. The miniature horse is shown in halter classes, jumping, obstacle events, and a variety of driving classes. They are not ridden as are the bigger horse, but instead handled from the ground. They have as much spirit and personality as does the bigger horse. Once you own a miniature horse they grow on you and you are likely to end up with a few.
At Hawkhill Miniature Farm, we strive to see that:
- Our wee horses find an appropriate home for their needs
- Are double registered with both the American Miniature Horse Association ( AMHA) and the American Miniature Horse Registry (AMHR).
- Registration papers are transferred to new owners as promptly as is possible.
- Horses leave our farm with both a halter and lead
- They are always up-to-date on their shots, deworming and hoof care
- They have safe transportation if required
- And we consider all offers to purchase our horses
